Verbatim is a new not-for-profit investigative project focused on producing journalism in the public interest.

Founded by Lawrence Carter and Louis Wilson, Verbatim's team specialises in investigating high-level political and corporate influence and has been responsible for major projects on ExxonMobil, Project 2025, Gulf petrostates, Russian shadow fleets and, most recently, illicit funding in Reform UK. These were covered by major media outlets, including the BBC, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Channel 4 News, CNN, The Guardian and The Times.

In September 2026, our year-long undercover investigation into illicit funding of Reform UK set the political agenda and triggered a Metropolitan police investigation.
